ResumoReliability/maintainability symposium reflects concern with performance vs. cost "Assurance Technologies in Today's Envi ronment" will be the main topic of concern when the 1976 Annual Reliability and Main tainability Symposium (IEEE et al.) convenes in Las Vegas, Nev., January 20-22.Head quarters will be the MGM Grand Hotel. The meeting theme reflects the ever-in creasing pressures to improve product per formance, reliability, and life, coupled with economic pressures to reduce initial cost and the cost of ownership.Recognizing the fact that techniques do exist for achieving product improvement in a cost-effective manner, the symposium has been structured to explore these techniques over a wide range of products in such diverse areas as microcircuits, weapon systems, ecological systems, and medical programs.A highlight of the meeting will be the key note address by Robert F. Trimble, Assistant Administrator for Contract Administration in the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.Mr. Trimble's responsibilities include policies related to contract management, cost allow ability, overhead, profit, termination, and so cioeconomic programs. The banquet speak er will be David J. Harnett, president of Aeronca, Inc
