Griffin: , DBA Boston University, is Assistant Professor of Management and Public Policy at the George Washington University School of Business and Public Management. Her research interests include corporate public affairs, corporate political strategy and strategic stakeholder management. A Trustee of the Board of the Foundation for Public Affairs FPA in Washington, DC, Dr Griffin is on the Foundation's research committee. Her research has appeared in Public Administration Review, Business and Society, and Corporate Reputation Review, among others. Prior to academe, Professor Griffin worked in the US and the Netherlands for General Electric and has worked for 3M and Texas Instruments. Fleisher: is Dean of the Faculty of Business, University of New Brunswick Saint John, Canada. He has formerly held graduate faculty positions at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Universities of Calgary Canada, Pittsburgh USA, Sydney Australia, Waikato NZ. His research in the areas of competitive intelligence, corporate public affairs management and assessing organisational performance has resulted in three books and over 100 published articles or book chapters. A member of the Canadian Who's Who and President of the Canadian Council for Public Affairs Advancement CCPAA between 1995 and 1999: he is a member of the President's advisory board for public relations programmes at Mount Saint Vincent University, a Director of the Centre for PA Management CPAM in Washington, DC and a founding member and Director of the International Association of Business and Society IABS a frequent keynote or plenary speaker to government industry and trade association groups around Australasia, Europe and the Americas, Professor Fleisher has also advised leading global organisations such as Alcan, Bell Canada, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, EDS, IBM, Imperial Oil, Johnson and Johnson, Levi Strauss, Noranda, Novo-Nordisk, Ontario Hydro, Philip Morris, Shell and Telstra.Search for more papers by this authorSteven N. Brenner: is currently Professor of Business Administration in the School of Business Administration at Portland State University. At PSU's 1998 commencement he received the University's highest faculty honour, the Branford Price Millar Award for Faculty Excellence. He served as Sponsored Professor of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility there from 1987 to 1992 and as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in its School of Business Administration from 1983 to 1987. In 1997 he received the Sumner Marcus Award for Outstanding Service from the Social Issues in Management Division of the Academy of Management. Dr Brenner has written papers for Harvard Business Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, the Academy of Management National Meetings Proceedings, the JAI Press Research on Corporate Social Performance and Policy, the Journal of Business Ethics and other publications. He was elected and served as the Chairperson and Program Chair for the Social Issues in Management Division of the Academy of Management and as President, Vice President and Program Chair of the International Association of Business and Society. He teaches courses in corporate social responsibility, business ethics, managing in a regulated world, business/government relations, business policy and organisational politics. During 1989 and 1990 he was on sabbatical leave doing research on corporate social responsibility and acting as Chair of the Academy of Management's Ethics Task Force, which wrote the Academy's Code of Ethical Conduct. Boddewyn: is Professor of Marketing and International Business and Coordinator of the International Business Program in the Zicklin School of Business of Baruch College, City University of New York. He also held teaching positions at the University of Portland, New York University and Columbia University. He holds a Commercial Engineer degree from the University of Louvain Belgium, an MBA from the University of Oregon, and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Washington Seattle. He served as President of the Academy of International Business and as Chair of International Management Division of the Academy of Management — he is a Fellow of both organisations as well of the International Academy of Management. He has published extensively in leading journals on whose editorial boards he has repeatedly served as reviewer; and he has been the Editor of International Studies of Management and Organization since 1971. His current research interests centre on business political behaviour, public affairs, the regulation and self-regulation of advertising around the world and international business strategy.
