ResumoThis paper explains how the blog Bibliojurídica can work as a tool of communication between Biblioteca Lydio Bandeira de Mello, UFMG’s Law School’s library, and its users. It defines the concept of Web 2.0 and describes the history, definitions, typology and key features of blogs. It characterizes and defines legal information and presents the institution for which the blog was created. It demonstrates the importance and functions of the library blog as a dynamic resource for disseminating information and as a space for interaction with users. It describes the methodological procedures used in the construction of Bibliojurídica, such as objectives, content, links, technological resources, software and divulgation. Access statistics and comments posted on the blog suggest results of its installation were very positive. This paper concludes that the blog has achieved its goals: it works as a resource for disseminating library products and services, helping to improve communication between the library and its users.
