Resumo

Good conformity between the frequencies of chiasmata in the hetero morphic chromosome pair and those of equational AI separation has been reported repeatedly in the structural hybrids such as described in the preced ing articles of this series (Kayano 1960, Noda 1960, Zen 1960).This fact is in good agreement with the chiasmatype hypothesis accounting for the origin of chiasmata. The same fact was observed further in the present case of translocation heterozygote of Scilla scilloides Druce. The plants employed were sampled from a natural population in the Is land of Yaku-Shima, southwest of Kyushu; cytological method was the same as described in a previous paper (Noda 1960).
