ResumoZinc joins the magic circle: Use of the acids Ph2C(X)CO2H (X=OH, NH2) allows access to novel organozinc ring systems. Intriguing solid-state structures (see picture; O red, Zn green, N blue, Li pink), elucidated by X-ray crystallography using synchrotron radiation, form depending on the nature of X. These complexes serve as an entry point into new organozinc ring chemistry.
