ResumoAbstract The aim of this work is to focus on the mathematical objects of which the embodiment of weak or strong sustainability is made up. Indeed, scholars and essayists have borrowed the geometrical representations of sustainability, with little regard to their nature, in order to back up and illustrate the logic of their propositions. For this reason, we study the underlying properties of Venn and concentric diagrams. Given the complex, sometimes even inconsistent, interpretations of weak and strong pathways leading to sustainable development, analyzing the latter from the perspective of its visuals, through objects such as sets and hypergraphs, enables us to dig out invisible connections and contrasts between the underlying structures.
