Mit Blaulicht: Verbindungen mit Benzimidazol- und Arylamin-Einheiten sind zu einem außergewöhnlichen ambipolaren Ladungstransport befähigt und können als Monoschichten in leistungsfähigen blau emittierenden Elektrolumineszenzbauteilen eingesetzt werden (siehe Bild, ITO = Indiumzinnoxid).
