Vales Failde who, in his book Rosalía de Castro (Madrid: Imprenta de la Revista de Archivos, 1906) stated ‘Rosalía fue, ante todo y sobre todo, excelente hija, excelente esposa y excelente madre … y reafirmando estas tres excelencias, otra mayor, la de haber sido excelente cristiana’ (28–29). The example suffices. 2.
