ResumoThe present article aims to expose the extension project “Jornal Comunitário Folha da Princesa”, that was created in 2000 and has as target audience the community from Vila Princesa, a neighborhood in outskirts of Pelotas. The objective of the newspaper is to share information, free and alternative, portraying the reality of the neighborhood. Serving as a forum for dialogue with the government, and to provide students of journalism the development of different techniques of journalistic production. All newspaper stages of production are performed in different academic semesters, directed by Professor and project founder Jairo Junior Sanguine and the neighborhood community itself, which involves the definition of guidelines to be worked on each issue.
