ResumoThermography is the graphic representation of temperature. Medical tomography is the measure of skin temperature, and it is a noninvasive method to detect infrared radiation. Infrared emission can be directly correlated to blood flow. During the lameness evaluation, thermography offers valuable information about the location of pain, intensity of injury and effectiveness of treatment. Of the diagnostic aids currently available, thermography allows the earliest detection of inapparent injuries. Thermography offers unique information about conditions of the foot, joint diseases, long bone injuries, tendon damage, muscle strains, and vertebral column diseases.
