ResumoThe pathophisiological significance of rat GSH-PO on various fatty liver and hormonal disorders of adrenal glands was intensively investigated by usage of the immunoperoxidase method established in our laboratory.It is also well documented fact that lipid peroxidation attribute the occurrence of serious pulmonary disease induced by oxidants, radiation etc and/or arteiosclerosis.For the studies of those pulmonary and arteriosclerotic disorders, however, rabbit is allegedly recognized as a superior experimental model.The present study thus designed to establish the immunoperoxidase method for the rabbit GSH-PO.GSH-PO was purified from rabbit liver, when, the antibody against this purified enzyme was produced in goat.Horseradish peroxidase was labeled to this anti-GSH-PO (Fab) by the method of Wilson-Nakane, and specificity of HRP-labeled antibody was confirmed by "Western Blotting".The direct peroxidase labeled antibody method stained entire hepatic lobules homogeneously.At electron microscopic level, following two types of hepatocytes were recognized: 1) intense staining in cytosol, 2) only mitochondria were stained.This immunocytochemical heterogeneity (of hepatocytes) is discussed.The localization and the concentration of retinoid-binding proteins in rat liver and kidney
