Resumo

Complications with implant prostheses have been categorized as surgical complications, implant loss, bone loss, periimplant soft tissue complications, mechanical complications, and esthetic/phonetic complications.1 Fracture of implant components may occur due to fatigue from biomechanical overload, improper placement techniques, nonpassive fit of the suprastructures,2 or manufacturing errors.3 Abutment and retaining screws have the potential for fracture, and it is generally a challenge for the clinician to remove fractured screw fragments.
