Resumo

Jakob Rosenberg, a renowned authority on graphic art and on Dutch and German painting is retiring from Harvard University this summer as Professor of Fine Arts, Emeritus. In addition to his teaching and research, he has been Curator of Prints at the Fogg Art Museum. Professor Rosenberg will hold the Robert Sterling Clark Professorship at Williams College during the academic year 1964–65. His two volume study of Rembrandt followed an earlier work on Jacob van Ruisdael. Recently, he and Seymour Slive, completed a book on Dutch Painting of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries. Professor Rosenberg is also known for his studies of the German artists Martin Schongauer and Lucas Cranach. His other works include German Expressionism and Abstract Art (with Charles Kuhn), and Great Draughtsmen from Pisanello to Picasso.
