ResumoThe aim with this study was to evaluate, with laboratory tests, health of five capuchin monkeys living in a public park on the Diacuí Lake in the city of Jataí-GO, Brazil. The mean values for the main hematological parameters were 5.82 x 106/uL; 41.05%; 77.50 x 103/uL; and 7800/uL, respectively for red blood cells; hematocrit; platelets; and white blood cells count. It was not found any hematozoa in blood smears. In biochemical parameters, average concentrations of urea; creatinine; alanine aminotransferase; glucose; and total cholesterol were, respectively, 25.68 mg/dL; 0.79 mg/dL; 55.00 U/L; 96.16 mg/dL; and 87.16 mg/dL. None of the animals showed up reagent to the indirect hemaglutination test for antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii. Thus, we can conclude that these animals were seen to be in good health at the time of collection of blood samples.
