Ein molekularer Wankel-Motor, die Doppelringstruktur B13+, wird durch zirkular-polarisierte Infrarotstrahlung angetrieben. Rechnungen zeigen, wie der Strahleneinfall eine gelenkte unidirektionale Rotation des äußeren Rings mit einer Rotationsfrequenz in der Größenordnung von 300 GHz verursacht.
