ResumoA man with an exceptionally large muscle mass and a tentative diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction was found to have an elevated creatine phosphokinase (CPK) level. Subsequent diagnostic and clinical course was consistent with the conclusion that elevation of CPK level was due to his large muscle mass. Additional evidence for this conclusion was obtained by studying ten additional subjects with a similar body habitus. ( JAMA 228:1395-1396, 1974)
