Im Fokus steht dabei die Absorptionsintensität (grün: Cs2Cu(SO4)2⋅6 H2O, schwarz: CuSO4⋅5 H2O, rot: Cu2+ in wässriger Lösung und blau: Cu2+ im Glas). Ein dynamisches Modell, das auf einem Jahn-Teller-verzerrten Komplex beruht, beschreibt die Koordination der Kupfer(II)-Ionen in Hydrat-Kristallen und wässriger Lösung.
