Downham is vice president, human resources, TRW Steering Systems Group (SSG). In this capacity, he has worldwide human resources responsibility for SSG's more than 16,000 employees located at 38 facilities in 15 countries. In addition to his functional HR leadership role, he works closely with SSG's operating management in the continuing development or organizational, managerial and HR capabilities. He also serves as a member of the corporate HR Policy Group. Tom received his bachelor of science degree, cum laude, in business from Northern Michigan University. Earlier as Program Manager for GE's Business Management Course, he helped develop action learning projects and global education models, which were used at Crotonville. Jim has an M.B.A. degree from Auburn University and a doctorate in Adult Education from North Carolina State University.
