Most of the gold output is derived from alluvial operations, and the workings are spread over streams comprising the Bulolo and Watut river valleys, as well as adjacent areas. The sheds of various types of gold on the Morobe field are correlated with geological features to discover determining factors governing gold fineness. Comparisons are made of various types of gold-bearing areas in other parts of the world. This content is PDF only. Please click on the PDF icon to access.
