Unfortunately, many manufacturers market echinacea as a preventive agent (2), but this has not been my experience. I have found echinacea drops to be the most effective preparation, but this method of use is unusual and not familiar to many practitioners of traditional medicine. The preparation I use is marketed in Israel as ProtecPlus (Altman Natural Chemist Ltd, Cholon, Israel) and contains additional ingredients besides echinacea.
