ResumoA 48-year-old man had extremely unusual oral lesions consisting of multiple, small, painless, yellow pustules involving the maxillary and mandibular gingiva and mucobuccal fold. Histopathologic examination of the lesions revealed intraepithelial pustule formation, and a diagnosis of pyostomatitis was made. Since pyostomatitis is part of a syndrome associated with gastrointestinal disturbances, radiographic studies of the bowel were performed and the patient was found to have Crohn's disease. Following corticosteriod therapy the patient has been free of oral lesions for more than a year.
