Resumo

Abstract As stimulants, cocaine and amphetamines heighten arousal and increase behavioural activation. More ominously, rapid delivery of a high concentration of these drugs to the brain triggers a state of euphoria (the so‐called ‘flash’ or ‘rush’) that creates an alarming potential for abuse. Cocaine and amphetamines are phenylisopropylamines whose stimulant properties have been known for centuries.
