Aus 1 können auf zweierlei Weise koordinativ ungesättigte Spezies generiert werden: Die Labilität von Cipso ermöglicht Reaktionen mit Liganden L, die reversible Dissoziation/Assoziation des SDmp-Liganden führt zur regioselektiven Cyclotrimerisierung substituierter Alkine (siehe Schema).
