Resumo

The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, is a serious pest to manycrops because, in the repetition of its short life cycle, it rapidly develops resistance to a wide range of miticidal chemicals.Wehere report the isolation of a hatching inhibitor of T. urticae from Chamaecyparis pisifera Endl (SAWARA in Japanese), which also inhibits the feeding of mite larvae.
