ResumoEastern Galicia.In Poananin, the districts of Nowotomysk, Bnbimojek, and Rlicdqrzcc, have also ovbry natural advantage.In Volhynia the crop rose from 68,000 poods (1 p o d equ:iIs 36 Ib.) in 1907, to 200,000 poods in 1913.Up to 1915 Poland exported hops to Russia, England, Japan, Germany, and Bohemia, tho lnst two countries reexporting them as their own brands.The poor opinion of Polish hops which is held abroad is due to the fnct that, being of a far superior quality to Russian hope, they mere always mixed with these and then exported.Many Russian breweries procurod 20 per cent. of their hops from nbrond, while Polish breweries importod scarcely 8 per cent. of the finest quality necessary for niaking tho choicest beers, which shows the superiority of the Polish to the Russian hops.The prewar production of hops in Congress Poland, Galicia, Posnania, and Volhynia, amounted to about 300,000 p o d s , and the consumption of home brcwerics in thcsc districts to 60,000 pods.The production* of hops in 1919 in Congress Poland nmounted to 18,000 PO&.
