ResumoIn August, 2005, the American Cancer Society, in partnership with Yahoo!, launched the Blog for Hope (http://blogs.health.yahoo.com/blog-for-hope). About a dozen celebrities, from comedian Tom Green to Deepak Chopra, contribute entries to blogs about how cancer has affected them. A typical entry, from US television presenter Mary Hart, starts: “Taking charge of your own health is key in preventing cancer. I believe my family experience with breast cancer encouraged me to keep informed about health issues, new research, and as much as I could about breast cancer, so I could make informed decisions along with my physician”.
