The essay frames Herberto Helder's poetry in extended reflections about the relations between notions and images of death.In this sense, the transit of images of death across different arts, media and cultures is analysed.Thus, bonds established with death by different kinds of images shall be appointed as privileged points of view for the critical analysis of Herberto Helder's poetry, in which the issue of death-image is paramount.When interrogating a literary oeuvre from both intermidial and transmidial perspectives, evidence is provided that concerning the circulation of death across distinct images, there are infinite variations, but something remains.
