Resumoin Winnipeg Manitoba, Burman grew up in Shanklin, Isle of Wight and London, England.He joined the Royal Navy in 1942, learning the new radar technology and served as petty offi cer on HMS Cheerful.Demobilized in 1946, he worked in the J. Arthur Rank Organization at Gainsborough and Denham studios (Treasure Island).Burman moved to Montreal in 1949 and joined Phoenix studios.Later at Omega Productions, as chief sound engineer and later as production manager, he worked on Les Plouffes, Radisson, D'Iberville and coverage of EXPO 67.In 1969 he joined Bellevue Pathé, dubbing TV series such as "My Three Sons" and "Mr.Magoo" into French.In 1972 he joined the CBC as soundman on the London offi ce news reporting unit and moved his family to England.In 1975, Burman returned to Montreal where he worked with ORTO, the NFB, Sonolab, and Bellevue Pathé (Hot
