The massive chunk of health care dollars (about 30%) being siphoned off by for-profit intermediaries is almost enough to pay for all uninsured persons in the U.S. (about 18%). Is the academic health care establishment so weakened that they cannot withstand these vested interests?Umesh Gidwani, MDMount Sinai HospitalNew York, NY 10029Reference1.
