ResumoResearch Article| March 01 2014 Cosmic Sea Karey Kessler Karey Kessler Karey Kessler is a Seattle, WA artist. She received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, and her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She was a resident at the Vermont Studio Center in 2004. Her work is in the flat files of the Pierogi Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) and her maps are included in the books The Map as Art, by Kitty Harmon, (Princeton Architectural Press, 2010) and From Here to There: A Curious Collection From the Hand Drawn Map Association (Princeton Architectural Press, 2010). Her maps were included in the recent symposium and exhibit, See-Through Maps: Maps that Lay Bare Their Point of View, Global Urban Humanities Initiative (Berkeley, CA). Other recent shows include: Are We Where Yet? at A.I.R Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), Mapping: Memory and Motion at Katonah Museum of Art (Katonah, NY), The Map as Art, at the Christopher Henry Gallery (New York), and All Over The Map, at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Sheboygan, Wl). Karey will be in Taiwan next year and looks forward to documenting her stay in art and on maps.
