The American Journal of Primatology (AJP) is the official journal of the American Society of Primatologists. The journal was founded in 1981 and publishes research articles, review articles, commentaries, and manuscripts under the heading of new approaches to primate health, disease transmission, genetics, conservation, behavior, ecology, diet and foraging strategies, sociality, reproductive biology and endocrinology, mating systems, evolution, systematics, nutrition, captive management and well‐being, personality, enrichment, cognition, problem‐solving, ontogeny, and ecosystems health. The AJP maintains the highest impact factor (IF) of all of the primate journals ().
