He included the following tidbit: I kept journals of my activities most of the time from high school till I retired, and they, along with annotated photo albums were a big help in doing the project. Axiom: We all have great grandfathers. That is not a revelation. It is a reality. When was your great grandfather born? Did he emigrate from another country? Wouldn't it be nice if he had kept a journal? Corollary: Many of us have grandchildren. That is not a revelation. It is a reality.
