ResumoMexican Sonideros are sound systems that organize popular dances in the poor neighborhoods of Mexico City. They also operate in other Mexican cities and parts of the USA, where many Mexican immigrants live and work. In some aspects, they are very similar to other Latin-American sound systems such as Brazilian Tecnobrega and Funk Carioca, and Colombian Picoteros. However, Mexican Sonideros have some features that make them quite unique. One of the most unique elements is the new bodily practice introduced by dancers. The common gender markers of this kind of music disappears and new corporalities emerge in the bosom of gay and transvestite community. On these sonic and artistic particularities reflects the article.
