ResumoDr Daniel Dumitru is to be commended for this impressive volume in electrodiagnostic medicine. Dr Dumitru, who is well known in the field, has used some of the materials in this volume for his courses at American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine meetings. This book is divided into six parts and contains 23 chapters. The first 20 chapters are written by Dr Dumitru and the last three chapters by other contributors. Part I (three chapters) is devoted to the fundamental principles of electrodiagnostic medicine, including membrane physiology, volume conduction, waveform morphologies, and instrumentation. The illustrations of sensory nerve action potentials, end plate potentials, single fiber potentials, and motor unit potentials are valuable. The chapter on instrumentation, discussing electrodes, amplifiers, filters, analog/digital conversion, and stimulators, provides the vital information needed to use an electromyographic machine. Part II (five chapters) introduces the basic and advanced techniques used in common and advanced nerve conduction
