Resumo

The existence of a luminous bridge between the quasar Markarian 205 and the galaxy NGC 4319 has long been known as evidence that quasars are not at their redshift distance. Special X-ray observations were made which supported this particular evidence but the observations were not reported. Those observations are now recovered from the Einstein Laboratory Archives. It is shown how a very small allocation of observing time from the new X-ray telescope ROSAT could further resolve this crucial question in extragalactic astronomy.
