ResumoThe study of the expression "apostolic body" applied to the Jesuit order allows us to rethink a series of theological issues, from our relationship with the Church to contemporary spirituality of the Church.For this, the original notion of a body for the mission at the service of the Church is rescued, according to the Deliberation of the first Jesuit companions.Second, the reflection shows a diversity of possibilities for the historical relationship of the Society of Jesus with the Church, especially after the Second Vatican Council.Thirdly, it is a question of re-reading the Scriptures in the light of the Word of God who became flesh in order to rescue the biblical sense of the body.Fourthly, it is necessary to revisit our conception of the body in its relationship with the spirit, based on the questions of a philosophy of the flesh.Fifth, in the guise of a spiritual theology as an exercise to revive all the senses of the body that we are, the way of praying proposed by Inácio de Loyola in the "application of the senses" is articulated with the contemporary mystique proposed by the cardinal poet
