Physicians and their teams deserve payment for such services when provided in a longitudinal and patient-centered manner.In response to advocacy by the American College of Physicians (1) and other organizations, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have acknowledged the value of primary care by paying for some non–face-to-face office services and by recognizing new preventive service and coordination of care codes.
