ResumoAl Maktoum International Airport is an international airport under construction in Jebel Ali in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Al Maktoum International Airport is also known as Dubai World Centre. Dubai World Centre is Dubai’s airport of the future. The airport is an important part of Dubai South which is a proposed residential, commercial and logistics complex. The phase 1 of the airport was opened on June 27, 2010 for cargo operations. The first flight was an Emirates Sky Cargo Boeing 777F which landed after a flight from Hong Kong. Passenger flights started operations in October 2013. In 2013, the passenger flights started operations with Wizz Air followed by Jazeera Airways, Gulf Air and later Qatar Airways. The Airport currently have 27 passenger carriers operating an average of 108 flights weekly to 44 destinations. The airport also serves 36 freight operators.
