As Dr Smith points out, DTI has been widely and successfully used for central nervous system evaluation. However, its application in other regions outside the brain remains challenging. We agree with Dr Smith that the clinical application of DTI for spinal cord assessment is still controversial, as it needs further studies for its complete validation and incorporation in daily radiologic practice. The main aim of our article is to review the current scientific evidence on the application of DTI for spinal cord evaluation. For this aim, we have used a singular approach, building a handbook for readers who are interested in using this functional technique for spinal cord evaluation and taking as references our own experiences and our path toward implementing this technique in our group.©RSNA, 2022References1.
