Resumo

The recent overturn of Roe v Wade, in which the Supreme Court declared the constitutional right to an abortion is more appropriately in the hands of the states, has implications for physicians prescribing potential teratogenic medications. Dermatologists prescribe many of these kinds of medications including, but not limited to, isotretinoin, acitretin, methotrexate, and mycophenolic acid. Oral isotretinoin is commonly prescribed for acne despite being associated with a 20% to 35% risk for congenital abnormalities in pregnant patients. 1 Choi J.S. Koren G. Nulman I.
