Resumo

The main purpose of this communication is to recall/honor the 150th anniversary of the birth of Luiz Gastão d’Escragnolle Dória. The narrative aims to revisit the life and work of the illustrious writer, teacher, historian, member of the Brazilian Historical and Geographical Institute and professor of Colégio Pedro II.
