ResumoMany companies are currently performing a transition from their mechanical and hydraulic products to integrated electronic and mechatronic products which have to cope with requirements from Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety and Cybersecurity. Most organizations develop separate processes for the system and software domain without mapping or considering their outputs onto the product development process, which is still focused only on the mechanical development and production. At the MAHLE Electronics and Mechatronics division an approach has been chosen, where system, hardware, software and mechanical development were integrated in a product development framework replacing the product development process. The Product Development Framework (XPDF) has been integrated and fully implemented in Polarion.
