It would be easy to expand on the activities in the volume and have students produce dialogues and conversations that will give them practice for situations they are likely to encounter. The volume concludes with a section that presents contrastive vocabulary working from English and Spanish to the French equivalents. Appendices containing the answers to all the activities proposed in the volume as well as a list of the vocabulary for each chapter listed in French, English, Spanish, German, and Italian round out the volume. This makes the work text universally accessible and appealing to a wider audience. This book is part of a series by Didier that includes grammar, phonetics, vocabulary, and communication volumes. They are, for the most part, geared toward the A1/A2 level; but the grammar texts count two volumes that expand to the B1 learner. Combining the vocabulary text at the appropriate level with its complement from the grammar texts could work well to complete a program allowing for work on structures and the vocabulary to build them relative to daily tasks. Another option would be to pair the vocabulary text with phonetics lessons making the focus largely on oral communication. With a variety of texts available following the same overall structure, I see many opportunities to pull from the vocabulary collection from Didier along with their other volumes to create a course focused on desired outcomes that can be easily modified. In sum, the volume provides excellent practice for A1/A2 learners wishing to expand their conversational ability via theme-based lessons that lead to authentic contact with French speakers. Cette nouvelle édition vise à donner la parole à l’apprenant grâce au cinéma et en misant sur l’apport des nouvelles technologies. Il s’agit d’exploiter ces nouveaux outils pour stimuler et informer la discussion de manière cohérente en partenariat, par petits groupes et éventuellement devant toute la classe. L’approche pédagogique repose sur des stratégies et un éventail d’activités traitant de sujets d’actualité qui interpellent nos étudiants. Le livre s’ouvre sur une table des matières qui récapitule le contenu des six leçons, construites autour d’un court métrage de valeur. Chaque leçon est complétée par un supersite en ligne de format similaire à la version écrite. Plusieurs icônes aident à jalonner le parcours. Ces six leçons-courts métrages s’intitulent: 1. Les relations personnelles; 2. Les médias et la technologie; 3. Les générations; 4. Les voyages et les transports; 5. La nature et l’environnement; 6. La société. Chaque thème reflète le souci des auteurs “d’accrocher” l’étudiant et procure beaucoup de flexibilité au professeur. La liste des films proposés est la suivante: 1.
