Association of Nocturnal Enuresis and history of Breastffeeding in primary school children in Hilla city

ResumoBackground : Nocturnal Enuresis is a common problem in children. It has significant psychological impacts on both children and families. Nocturnal enuresis refers to an inability to hold urine during sleep at night. It is essential problem for school age children Objectives: To identify whether history of breastfeeding has a positive relation with reduced rates of bedwetting bed wetting at school age and to identify characteristics of breastfeeding that correlate with bedwetting or otherwise. Patients and methods: It is a descriptive hospital based cross_ sectional study which was carried out on convenient sample of 200 child with nocturnal enuresis aged 6 -12 years who attended Pediatric consultant clinic of Babylon Maternity and Pediatric Hospital, Imam Al-Sadiq General Teaching Hospital and Al Noor Pediatric Hospital , Urology consultant clinic of Hilla General Teaching Hospital and Imam Al-Sadiq General Teaching Hospital , whose mother accepted to participate in this study . It was conducted over a period of three months beginning from first of February to first of May 2022. Result: A total of 200 children with nocturnal enuresis were enrolled in this study, with mean ± SD of age was 8.3 ± 2 years, ranging between 6 to 12 years.
