ResumoEarth is a beautiful planet with lots of plants and animal species which is said to biodiversity. But due to human activities and disasters, most of the species has fizzled out and many are at risk. There are certain biodiversity hotspots, bio-geographical section with substantial amounts of biodiversity that is threatened with destruction. In India, there are four. These hotspots have to be preserved. It is the responsibility of every citizen to conserve the biodiversity. Conservation is the protection, conservation, organization, or restoration of wildlife and natural resources such as forests and water. There are in-situ and ex-situ conservation. In-situ conservation covers Protected areas, National parks, Sanctuaries, Biosphere reserves and Sacred forests and lakes. Ex-situ conservation comprises of Seed banks, gene banks, Long term captive breeding, Animal translocations, Tissue culture banks, Cryopreservation of gametes and embryos, Botanical gardens and Zoological gardens or zoos. All these are playing a major role in conservation of biodiversity. It is recommended that each individual should play their role in conservation of epidemiology.
