ResumoThe basic neurologic evaluation of a patient with primary complaints that bring him to the attention of the practicing dentist is described. The most important aspect of evaluation is a full and complete history. The dentist who sees such patients should be aware of the basic methods of testing the cranial nerves which relate to the facial and oral structures. A brief description of some of the more common facial neuralgias and neurologic illnesses which may present with facial or oral complaints has been included.
