ResumoA strain of Eimeria tenella from the field was found to be resistant to the quinoline group of coccidiostats. There were no significant differences in mortality or microhaematocrit levels in chickens treated with methyl benzoquate at 0.005% and 0.025% as compared with untreated birds infected with this strain. In comparative experiments using this strain of E. tenella, deccoquinate did not control mortality or haemorrhage, clopidol prevented mortality but not haemorrhage, and robenzidene prevented both mortality and haemorrhage.
