Abstract This article considers foreigners that appear in Squid Game and interrogates how the show both critiques and reproduces the racialized politics of oppression in global capitalism. It is argued that deploying stereotyped foreigners as the extremes of both precarity and privilege is lodged in South Korean sub-imperialist triumphalism and reproduces ideologies of othering that support structures of exploitation and oppression.
