ResumoBased on research into Antonio Gramsci’s writings, the following text has aimed to analyze the relationship between political militancy and culture. To do so, it identifies how the categories of culture and political militancy reveal themselves in texts published in the Avanti and Il grido del popolo journals, as well as in the socialist journal L’Ordine Nuovo, and how these responded to the political landscape of the time. Such an examination contextualizes the life and thoughts of Antonio Gramsci prior to his imprisonment in 1926 and reveals the presence of the culture category in conjunction with political militancy. Finally, the study points to how the writings emphasize culture alongside the construction of a workers’ state.
