ResumoWe have made corrections to the legend of Fig. 5. Originally, the legend mistakenly reversed parts E and F, and we have added a missing citation (Brown, 2017) to part I of the legend. It has also been brought to our attention that some of the descriptions of colour predictions for dinosaur and bird taxa in Table 2 derived from an online list posted by Dr Albert Chen (University of Bath and University of Cambridge) (Chen, 2016), which through oversight, went unattributed and without quotation. We sincerely apologize to Dr Chen. We provide below a revised Table 2, with the appropriate attribution to Chen (2016) and revised entries.
